Sadly, it is not possible for every item off your list to be checked off. That is only possible if you build your house from the ground up. However, what most people fail to realize is that some houses are a work in progress. A little polishing and one or two projects later, it can become your dream house.
What a lot of people want in a house is a proper deck. This deck can become a venue for outdoor parties or just a place for you to kick back and relax on lazy days. If you have hired a contractor, they are going t present you two material options, that being wood and composite decking. Let’s do a quick comparison between the two types.

Composite Decking:

Composite decking basically utilizes materials like wood chips, saw dust, bamboo fiber and plastic. This makes them a greener alternative since the materials used are mainly recycled. They have a smooth finish and can resemble wood from a distance however, they are not as aesthetically appealing as actual wood decking.
Composite decks are not affected by moisture, are rot resistant and normally bug resistant as well which is a major plus point.
Composite decking also requires little to no maintenance and you do not have to worry about staining since the surface can be cleared easily.
Composite decking has a warranty of up to 20 years which is a decent amount of time. Due to it’s slip-resistant qualities, composite deck boards are frequently used at aquatics facilities.

However, composite decking is more expensive than wood decking.

Wood Decking:

Wood decking has a beautiful finish, especially cedar with its reddish hue looks the most natural. This type of wood is also rot-resistant.
Woods like cedar and lumber are normally used. Pressure treated woods are also available and the higher the grade, the more expensive the price. They are still comparatively less expensive than composite decking.
Wood decking requires more maintenance. In fact, cedar requires washing and resealing within every 2 years. Not to mention the fact that it will fade regardless and is more delicate. Other higher grade woods can withstand more abuse but will require regular maintenance as well. Wood decking can last up to 15-20 years depending on the quality of wood and the maintenance.
